Most times, Western countries appoint and elect people from different countries. Citizens of such countries celebrate that their people are flying high in other countries. Ironically, most of such countries don't appoint or elect those they consider as non-indigenes, no matter how long they have lived in their countries.
If a Nigerian or Indian or Saudi can be elected or appointed to a high office in Canada, USA or Britain, fairness demands that a Canadian, an American or a Briton should be able to be elected or appointed to positions in Nigeria, India, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Mexico, Ghana, China, etc.
That is reciprocity.
That is justice.
As the saying goes, one good turn deserves another.
