The long-awaited return of The Day of the Jackal wastes no time pulling audiences back into its cold, merciless world—a pressure-cooker of espionage, betrayal, and simmering vendettas where every move is a calculated risk and every alliance a potential trap. Eddie Redmayne once again commands the screen as the enigmatic Jackal, an assassin whose lethal precision is matched only by the chaos now threatening to engulf him.
Season 2 picks up in the volatile aftermath of the first season’s explosive climax. The Jackal finds himself locked in a perilous war on two fronts: a fragile bid to repair his fractured marriage to his estranged wife, Nuria (Úrsula Corberó), and a deadly reckoning with former employer Timothy Winthrop (Charles Dance), whose ruthless betrayal during a mission of global consequence has triggered a cascade of treacherous fallout. This chapter digs deeper than ever into the Jackal’s psyche, peeling back the layers of his carefully crafted facade to reveal the emotional toll, moral compromises, and haunting ghosts that come with a life built on violence and deception.
The formidable ensemble returns—Eleanor Matsuura as the relentless Zina Jansone, Chukwudi Iwuji as the calculating tactician Osita Halcrow, Lia Williams as political powerbroker Isabel Kirby, Sule Rimi as loyal ally Paul Pullman, and Florisa Kamara as Jasmine Pullman—while the absence of Lashana Lynch’s Bianca leaves a lingering void after her poignant departure.
With production slated for early 2025 and a premiere eyed for 2026, Season 2 raises the stakes to their breaking point. It’s a tense, high-octane blend of intrigue and danger where loyalties shift like shadows, trust is a luxury no one can afford, and one wrong step could mean the end—for the Jackal, and for everyone in his crosshairs.
